Dearest readers,
Welcome back to my blog and wishing you all a very Happy Dusherra and Shubho Bijoya 🙏
If you already follow me on Instagram, I'm sure that you know that I recently visited Malaysia. So, guys, this is something very new that I'm writing a travel blog on my website.
I personally wanted to write this blog because this tour is neither a sponsored nor did we hire any travel agent. It was a very sudden plan. It all started with my Baba cribbing to take a break from the monotonous life and work load. I precisely remember that it was one Monday night when he returned home from work and in a very impulsive way, he booked the flight tickets. He is that a travel buff!
I personally was a little bit scared cause we have never been to abroad without hiring a travel agent and managing the entire tour by one seemed to be one heck of a task! Booking the hotel and flight tickets was not that an anxious one but getting the accurate online Visa got us anxiety attacks. It took us two days to understand the procedure and finally on the third day, we got our ENTRI Visa done from Malaysia's official visa site. It was a victorious moment for us😂
Flight details.
We had our flight from the Bhubaneshwar International Airport on the 28 September, 2018.
Air Asia, AK 30.
It took us 3 hrs 50 mins as far I remember.
Hotel details.
We stayed in Hotel Citin Seacare Pudu, located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is right opposite to The Pudu Snetral Bus stand.
Transportation.
KL has a great communication of transport. They have various bus service which include the free bus service called GOKL. GOKL has four lines that connect the popular areas of the city - Purple line, Blue line, Red line and Green line. The cabs that are always available is the Grab. The other mode of transportation is the mono rail.
In our tour, we travelled by the GOKL bus services and definitely, the GRAB cabs.
Day-1.
Since the tour was totally managed by us as we wanted to experience the life there as locals, we took the direct bus from the Airport to the Pudu Snetral Bus stand.
In the afternoon, we walked to the Datarn Medraka Square which is one of the beautiful afternoon places to visit in KL. The Medraka square is surrounded by museums and a huge racing area as well.
After which we took a Purple line GOKL bus to Bukit Bintang and then took a Green line GOKL bus to The KL City Centre and had a beautiful night view of the Petronas Twin Tower.
Day-2.
The second day was a great start with the beautiful Batu Caves. We took a GRAB cab from our hotel and reached the Batu Caves around 45 minutes. The temple is looked after by the South-Indian tribe that live in Malaysia. A whole lot of Bangladeshi and South-Indian tribe reside throughout the country. The Batu Caves is beautifully crafted with lots of colours and architectural designs.
After which we again took a GRAB and went to witness the morning beauty of the Twin Tower. There we grabbed some tasty deserts, chocolate doughnuts, and so many cakes!🤤
The main problem I faced in the trip was the food. Since the locals use palm oil in cooking, there is a weird smell of it and after trying some Chinese dishes from Nondo's cafe, I fell sick so, I decided to live on deserts throughout the four days.
In the afternoon yet again we went to the Medraka square and visited the Jamek Masjid, the museums- Music academy, Textile Museum, the church the KL Gallery.
Day-3.
The day started with lots of excitement as I was on my way to tick off Genting Highlands from my bucket list! We took the bus from The Pudu Snetral Bus stand which was right opposite to our hotel and reached the Awana Hub. From the Awana Hub we took the Gondola ( cable car) as they call to the Highlands.
The Genting Highlands is all about beautiful and aesthetically pleasing pretty corners, mouth watering desert shops, cheerful and loud crowd and Casino.
We missed a major part of the Genting Highlands that is the Theme park as renovation works were going on.:)
P.S. If you ever visit the Highlands, don't forget to try the Ice creams from Marrybrown cafe.

We ended our day by visiting the China town which didn't impress me much. It was a lazy Sunday so half of the shops were closed.
Day-4.
It was the last day in Kuala Lumpur. We started the day visiting the KL Tower. We took the Purple line GOKL bus to the spot and had to walk from there to the top. It is yet again a beautiful place with pretty corners all around.
We had spent the last few hours at the Pavilion and Bukit Bintang which are luxurious shopping hubs with high end brands in the city.
It was a beautiful end to the 4 days 3 nights trip and cannot wait to be back and get awe with the pretty corners yet again!
Return flight details.
